The Wonderful Whoopie Pie Birthday Giveaway
Posted on January 22nd, 2013
t’s my birthday and I want to give you a present.
Real bloggers do giveaways, did you know? I’ve never done one before so that probably puts things into perspective about just how ‘real’ I am, but I digress. The fact is that you believe in me, and not unlike J.M. Barrie’s tempestuous and possibly homicidal Tinker Bell, this makes me as real as any other online voice out there.
By reading me here you’ve already given me the gift of legitimacy (or the appearance thereof), but that isn’t nearly the half of it. I’m grateful for your continued support, every last one of you.
So in partnership with the New Mexico Pie Company (I’ve written about owner Andrea Schulte and her five-star desserts before—did you read that one?) I present to you the first-ever WendyWrites online giveaway! The best part is the prize:
A half-dozen of the New Mexico Pie Company’s signature Chocolate Vanilla Whoopie Pies.
Entering is easy. Leave a comment here on any blog postbetween now and midnight this Friday, Jan. 25. It can be on a new piece or one that stuck with you from sometime over the last several months. Say whatever you like. Post under an assumed name, I don’t care (although weirdos posting under an assumed name will have to send me a real address to ship to when the time comes or I’m eating your prize). Heck, if you’re feeling at a loss of words, you can just type the word ‘pie’ with an exclamation point at the end and, just like that, you’re entered.
(When asked if I should allow more time for you to participate, my husband’s response was along the lines of, ‘You’re not giving away a car, Oprah,’ so do it by Friday or no Whoopie Pies for you.)
The winner will be announced here this Monday on my birthday. One of The Three will pull your name out of a hat, probably one left over from a Mad Hatter costume. I’m not sure which one of The Three will do it, but I’m going to put it out there now that Roy can be bought and that’s something all of us should take into consideration. Your pies will be shipped directly to you or, if you are a dessert-hater, to the loved one of your choosing.
In the meantime, please, oh please, won’t you visit fabulous Andrea at her online home for the New Mexico Pie Company? You can like her on Facebook from there or follow her on Twitter or whatever you’re online pleasure might be (no, not like that).
Happy birthday to every last one of us, and thanks so much for reading.∗
